Austin Christopher O'Neal

went home to Heaven today.

2011: Day 117 of 365

Today has been a long rough day.  Austin went in for his first heart surgery that we have been gearing up for since his birth.  He made it through his eight hour surgery and his heart was beating on its own.  Shortly after his surgery, his heart stopped, and he had to be put onto life support.  He is in critical condition, but I believe that he is strong and is going to pull through this all.  After all, Emerson needs his buddy.

On Sunday, I decided that I was going to make a Subway Art print for my front room, so I spent a couple hours playing around and made one that I totally love.  I printed it out and framed it today.  I also framed the print of the birds in the tree.  I just received that in an order from Vol25.  I am loving that too!

Emerson really wanted to go outside today.  It was raining, and I didn't want to clean up a wet boy.  So I let him have snack outside by the front door.  He loved it.

We had a fun and busy day.  We went to the Zoo's Easter egg hunt.  Then we walked around the Zoo.  We ended our outing by going to Costco.  When we got home Emerson had a package waiting to open.  It was a fun Easter present from Grandma and Grandpa Bush!  He loved his gift.

It has been a beautiful sunny day today.  So we went to a park and flew a kite.  I can't wait for the weather to stay like this for more than a day.

Emerson is just discovering that he hands get wrinkled after a long bath.  The wrinkle really bug him.  He asked for us to take off the "sprinkles" whenever he gets them.

I made these cute bean bags for a short class that I am teaching tonight on entertain kids.  I think that they turned out so cute.

Emerson has really loved Easter egg hunts since Saturday, so we have been doing them everyday since then.  This morning, I had the genius idea of puting his cereal into the eggs.  He loved that.

Jason has been into making bread on Sundays lately.  I have been enjoying this new found tradition.

We had our ward Easter egg hunt today.  Emerson LOVED finding all his eggs (even if it was the same three eggs over and over again).

Playing in puddles is one of our favorite outdoor activities, but to make it more fun add an umbrella.

I had a coupon for Deseret Book, so I took Emerson and let him pick out something.  He chose this cute magnetic build a robot kit.  He loves playing with it.  I was hoping that he chose this because I had been eying it at Pottery Barn Kids, and it was more than half the price here with the coupon!

I put Emerson's name on the cute pail today for his Easter egg hunt coming up.

I went out to try to get more feet pictures of Emerson  and bribed him with a juice.  He LOVED his juice.  I got some super cute pictures of him with it too.

This is pretty much a perfect lunch for Emerson.  He loves everything on this plate.  To make it more perfect there would be chips on the plate too, but we are out.

Emerson has been getting nto helping with make food.  He always wants to wear one of my aprons and help.  This morning I let him stir some eggs for scrambled eggs.  He is such a good helper.

I was in bed sick most of the day, so Emerson had free reign most of the day.  He loved the freedom...maybe a little to much.  There wasn't a toy still put in its place by the time Jason got home from work.

It has been a nice afternoon, so we went out and did some sidewalk chalk.  This was a first for Emerson, and he loved it.  I had him run to the different numbers, letters and shapes that I called out, and then he would trace it.

We had Chow Mein for dinner.  This is quickly becoming our favorite meal.  We actually now usually skip the Chicken and Rice meal and go straight to adding the yummy stuff to it too.

Emerson got himself dressed today.  Cute outfit; wrong direction.

Emerson is getting to be such a big boy.  He now has the job to set the table.  (At least the utensils and placemats.)  He does a really good job at it and loves having that responsibility.

I took Emerson out for ice cream tonight while Jason was at the Priesthood session of conference.  He thought he was in Heaven.

Randomly today, Emerson decided that he was too good for a shirt, so he took it off and went topless most of the day.  Good thing that it wasn't too cold.
